in my case, i will use something from #ahoxus, such as #achoz, #uproot, or perhaps even #abotz / #aloze if i get lucky. but i will focus the bulk of my personal time to structure everything right and eventually only connect the dots! #maincharacter

in your case, pick your battle. find your ikigai: something you love, that you already work on frequently, that you can take on the worst aspects of it even daily if needed (when most people can't), and that people will to pay someone for doing all that work. your balance.

a good 3rd party will sell their service, somehow teach how they do it through transparency, and keep their profits in balance for the environment, while continuously learning and evolving in the process. we can give the fish, teach how to fish, and fish only what we need for ourselves (in the broad view). sustainable life!

actually, here you read my public script draft to the video. i write as a #braindump, almost unedited, in a single seat (like i often do). in fact i spent less than 1h writing (including minor text editing) and more than 1h more finding nice media to add the final edition touch (including learning how to properly add videos and add text for the blind).

Currently, there's no way around it – you have to have Javascript enabled in the browser to make it work, there is a theoretical possibility to generate some HTML server-side but it's not implemented yet.

at least two reasons why #itsucks:

• after just a few months using talk.ahoxus.org hosted on the cheapest digital ocean host (about 50 bucks per year) it already gets so slow i have to wait about 1 minute for it to load! 🤮

• it signals against fsf.org good practices, in which a website should always offer a javascript free version. 😒

#pleroma and #writefreely both give me nearly perfectly what we want in #ahoxus digital: a very simple way to communicate with the world. (much better than any other alternative we currently know of such as telegram, gemini, emails, etc)! 🥰

but sadly neither get to the final marks (such as working 100% #offlinefirst and offering #awesomeslugs also known as #goodnames). and they probably never will.

we just have to find a way to balance them all out...

if you happen to find yourself near vila real in portugal on june 12th, a beautiful and warm sunny day, come join us on a half day walk and clean up trash around ahoxus, in andraes!

please, bring:

• many 50L or bigger bags;
• gloves, and;
• comfortable walking shoes!
• plus all your normal walking gear

the walk will be easy, with many ups and downs (as expected from anywhere in the region) and finished by lunch time before 12:00.

we will then invite everyone to lunch at a nearby restaurant 10 minutes away (by car), o mocho and afterwards to a nearby lake 30 minutes (by car).

we meet at sao cibrao 09:00 am sharp, june 12th 2022.

finally, we suggest going mostly around and within ahoxus naturala land, but we want to keep the track open to suggestions and promote wildness! 🥰

results

we walked just about 3km, down and up 100m. collected a few kg of trash in the concentrated last 800m going up, to fill up 2/3 of a 120L bag.

2 people showed up, so we had 100% more workforce than expected (given the amount of feedback we got from the advertising)! 🤣

last, but not least, we went home to make some delicious oven potatoes and ice cream.

i've got about average sperm count. back in 2018 i've donated sperm for a bank in portugal, who contacted me asking for more in 2021.

anyone in my family who didn't go through every effort to prevent giving birth, do have healthy kids – it's fairly easy to do it if you're not careful within my family. they all also have very similar looks from my father side. anyone can tell my sister is my sister just by looking at us, you know... quite “strong” genes.

i don't ever smoke or drink, because i hate the taste of both, and have always hated 'em. i eat very healthy, stay slim, but i'm not perfect. irregular exercises; some minor issues with many parts of the digestive system; diabetes and cancer in the family; a rare condition on the eye shared with my mother, called recurrent corneal erosion, which can be quite a problem but it's also easy to control once you learn about it; just like my rhinitis, and; some kind of maniac / depressive / bipolar disorders in my dad and myself. let me know if you want to talk about this or anything else. hope i'm not forgetting anything... and that this won't scare you! because it shouldn't. :)

above all, when looking to donate sperm i do it because i want to one day get to know about my children, even if only by accident or from far away. or just know they exist and have lived! i may never have the chance on my own, given my life for the past 40 years: i never really wanted to raise one in this “society”, all by myself (i have no family to help with this). i still might do vasectomy after i give birth to some kids because i want to have plenty of unworried sex (and never did).

if you ever wanted to start a blog but didn't know where to go except it couldn't be wordpress, then you can start today!

i don't want to get too technical, but...

because writefreely uses #agpl code (not just open source foss saass bullshit), this is a truly free way to simply write.

and because it's on the #fediverse (i'll be using the term interchangeably with activity pub), it uses the full potential of the internet original intent: everything gets automatically backed up federated style.

you might think you'll be losing on some features, but the simple fact the #fediverse is a mixture of twitter, facebook, wordpress, and email done in the same way everything else should be (with freedom first) will give you by far the best way to communicate with your audience that ever existed on the web.

this is like emails on steroids!

• everyone can host their own server
• you can reach out to anyone
• white listing and black listing makes handling spam and scam simple and efficient
• making a “public email” is possible: a toot is like a tweet
• the root can also be private, like a dm and exactly like an email
• choose size of image “attachments” allowed in your server
• enforced file security by not allowing files by design (we should always share files in other ways, such as syncthing, to begin with)
• limit the amount of characters
• use your preferred app or the web
• scheduled toots
• easy polls
• chat reactions
• push mobile notifications that just work (unlike so many email clients)
• true freedom as fsf.org promotes
• so much more!

you can customize privacy to your needs as much as you can possibly imagine, because of how free it is.

and if you don't want to handle code, just use write.as services, from the company behind it all. you can even still get it for free, just reach out to them there.

i really only miss one thing: proper versioning.

editing the post is possible, but it just create a new “toot” and delete the old one. such a bad architecture design.

you might miss better collaboration tools, such as you may be used with on docx softwares or other blogging platforms... but much better things will come. and, anyway, we already can enjoy all other benefits to collaborate in much better and creative ways!
