do you want to create your first free (or libre, as in freedom) digital product with an audience?

and capitalize it beyond your dreams to retire young?!

then follow along my path on how i will do it for myself! 😏

this quest started with lucas interview. perhaps you'll want to watch it too (in case you know portuguese).

and then let's recap a related concept...

ikigai 'a reason for being' image source:

in my case, i will use something from #ahoxus, such as #achoz, #uproot, or perhaps even #abotz / #aloze if i get lucky. but i will focus the bulk of my personal time to structure everything right and eventually only connect the dots! #maincharacter

in your case, pick your battle. find your ikigai: something you love, that you already work on frequently, that you can take on the worst aspects of it even daily if needed (when most people can't), and that people will to pay someone for doing all that work. your balance.

i first learned about #ikigai perhaps 7 years ago. and never gave it much thought through the years. take your time to find yours.

when you do find your passion, it will be time to go digital.

some call it #digitalmarketing or personal marketing. while i will certainly go through those techniques, my focus will be on linking (or relinking data and energy, thus #relinxus).

combining people, agents, users, consumers, developers, producers, kids, elderly, and many more. do you see the pattern?

yes, i will become the...

or middle person. you know...

have you also grew up to hate the middleman? why?

if you think about it, you may realize they usually centralize power!

you know them. they love to monopolize.

but keep in mind that decentralization only offers half the answer for long term, like all dichotomies... we actually want #harmonicchaos!

you can become your own middleman (like i will do) or you can use harmonicchaosized 3rd parties: just like all other free, good, and nearly invisible services out there, such as local restaurants with cheap and uniquely exquisite food, or that vehicle driver who can hear you or make jokes at virtually zero cost.

a good 3rd party will sell their service, somehow teach how they do it through transparency, and keep their profits in balance for the environment, while continuously learning and evolving in the process. we can give the fish, teach how to fish, and fish only what we need for ourselves (in the broad view). sustainable life!

now, a final bit of...

the best way to connect with the world today will always be through #videos.

and, yet, here i share this text.

actually, here you read my public script draft to the video. i write as a #braindump, almost unedited, in a single seat (like i often do). in fact i spent less than 1h writing (including minor text editing) and more than 1h more finding nice media to add the final edition touch (including learning how to properly add videos and add text for the blind).

another irony: i will publish videos under (completely non free) tiktok @ahoxus, perhaps even before #peertube, in which i will promote #free ideas from #fsf such as #fupl (my version of agpl3+).

i will do it mostly because free videos tools still lag behind way too much, especially for #mobileonlylife as i live myself.

but who cares?

well, isn't this ironic? perhaps, and it might come off as an overkill, but i wanted to add it anyway for my own sake...

too long? didn't read?

if you have read everything so far and you want to do anything in this relinxus direction for your life, the best news come last: simply by learning about all this you already started to work towards doing it.

now take a step back. breath. let it sink in. and then keep on moving! 🥰

or “how to get lucky”

a list to expand your luck surface area & create more luck.

adapted from an awesome sahil bloom post on 2022 mar 9.

much of what we come to call #luck rises from the macro result of 1,000s of micro actions. your daily habits put you in a position where “luck” will be more likely to strike.

remove the “black holes” (anti-luck) from your existence! take actions to expand your personal luck surface area.

“diligence is the mother of good luck.” – benjamin franklin

how to define #luck?uncontrollable—pure and raw events on your favour?

who gave birth to us, and where. winning lottery tickets without any trickery. the base circumstances of our life all fall into this category of luck and we must not dismiss this as perhaps the greatest luck factor in life. for sure no minor aspect of life!

here, however, we talk about another kind of luck. the second one most people usually refer to when going through the day. and this can actually apply to every kind of luck, but we will now focus only on the how.

our daily habits put us in a position where “luck” will be more likely to strike.

in the movie interstellar (spoiler alert!) we can see the main characters discussing the habitability of a planet on the edge of a large black hole.

the protagonists realize that the proximity to the black hole makes life unlikely to exist on the planet — the black hole absorbed all of the “lucky” events that would spark life: the asteroids carrying the seeds of life, the chance collisions — none of them could occur because the “luck surface area” of the planet was minuscule given its proximity to the all-absorbing black hole.

such a sneakily powerful metaphor for life!

again, remove the “black holes” from existence. take actions to expand the personal luck surface area.

the list follows.

be the dumbest in the room!

when given a choice between entering two rooms, choose the room where you will be the dumbest one in the room.

once inside, talk less and listen more. might sound bad for the ego, but it will be great for luck.

good things tend to happen in these rooms.

hang out with optimists

pessimism sound smart, optimism get lucky.

when choosing who to spend time with, prioritize spending time with optimists/optimism. pessimism see only closed doors. optimists see the open doors — and probably ignore the closed ones.

call the pessimism a “black holes” in life and remove them all to get lucky.

get in the arena

we find no luck on the sidelines — it only syringes in the arena.

a lonely and vulnerable place, but also the only path that bears real fruit. when faced with two paths, choose the path that puts you in the arena — where collisions happen, where luck can strike.

furthermore, surround yourself with arena people/agents. sideline rock slingers never get lucky.

write in public

when you write and publish your ideas and insights, you cast a web of magnets out into the world.

those ideas and insights will attract some people to you — and luckily repel others.

as your web grows, the connections — and luck — compound accordingly.

no qualifications or requirements to get started — just “do it” #energy.

talk to strangers

have you heard of “don't talk to strangers” as a child? this residue carries into adulthood for far too many people. look at the elderly (not just old people). they talk to everyone!

new relationships spark new ideas, insights, and opportunities — these compound just as well as any financial investment.

broad network = broad luck.

see no strangers; only friends you haven't yet met.

send cold emails

cold emails can give you the biggest breaks in modern life — new mentors, relationships, and career opportunities.

even if you get no response or bad response, you can still take a huge advantage of that feedback information. and keep shooting.

schedule free time

some people still hate having free time, permeating one of the greatest lies ever told.

in investing, cash calls options on future investments. in life, free time calls options on future opportunities.

free time gives the headspace to pursue new ideas and go down rabbit holes.

plan for it if needed. get plenty of it. when in doubt, it means we need more.

ruthlessly eliminate negativity

lots of the ideas here got reiterated with different words, for enforcement.

everyone has a few negative agents in their circle. they tell you to be realistic. they laugh at your ambition. they argue.

eliminate this negativity from your life. call it boat anchor, a major black hole, and cut the damn line and run away from it as fast as you can!

and pay attention when other people do it to you, as to monitor your own negativity scale.

embrace the unexpected

we all should spend our life saying yes to almost everything.

saying yes puts us into uncomfortable situations that lead to new relationships, opportunities, and growth.

unexpected moments bring richness of luck. embracing them to capitalize.

hustle hard

bias for motion make good things happen. it creates more random collisions in the ecosystems, like chaos theory. #harmonicchaos

just a bit of hustle goes a long way.

find luck through persistence, hard work, hustle, and motion, such as when running around creating opportunities. generate a lot of energy, do a lot to stir things up. almost like mixing a petri dish or mixing a bunch of reagents and seeing what combines. all this generates enough force, hustle, and energy for luck to find its way. (adapted from naval)

trust the free time test

the smartest people do on their free time what everyone else will do during their busy time in a life time.

observe the weekend projects of the smartest people in your circles. these passion projects are disproportionately likely to offer a looking glass into the future.

make asymmetric bets on these areas.

create value without expectations (a.k.a. unconditional love)

the best things in life come to those who create value with no expectation of a return.

when we put out good energy, it tends to come back — often multiplied.

create genuine value. good things will happen.

put skin in the game

once 3 smart friends talk about something, put some skin in the game with a bit of money.

establish simple investment rules to make it easy to invest.

sometimes, learn more and fold; other times learn more and double down. these small bets bring outsized returns.

get out & engage

nobody gets lucky watching flicks at home on the couch.

only by engaging with people, interacting, and learning.

spend more time engaging and you will find more positions to get lucky.

become an expert

exceptional people get luck knocking at their doors for centuries.

the expertise becomes a magnet for brand new, unique, and interesting opportunities.

public expertise awareness: share your work to widen the reach of your magnet.

creative boredom

normalize boredom. the most creative moments come during periods of boredom.

on a walk, in the shower, at a lone dinner, etc. get bored, let the mind wander, and the thoughts mingle. bam! insight strikes.

boredom creates luck. go for more walks (sans technology), go for more drives, sit quietly and think. and never regret it.

spend time in digital communities

we no longer need to live in a big city or have a fancy degree to connect and build valuable relationships.

the opportunity playing field will always be leveling out more and more. #entropy

join a fediverse, engage in good faith. create value, receive value.

ask great cold questions

when you meet new people, find ways to stand out:

what excite you the most in life?

can you tell me a cool story by heart?

i know almost nothing about your field of expertise. please, tell me more?

get the other person talking. they will remember you for future opportunities.

follow your curiosity

astonishing curiosity hallmarks humans. but somewhere along the growing up way, we may learn to stop asking questions.

push back.

learn to follow the chaotic nature of curiosity — trust it. curiosity drives we all to knock down doors and enter new rooms.

fortune favors the curious.

usually i save those on my clipboard... but i couldn't find a good app to do it properly yet and the current one (gboard) keeps losing data!

how shocking, we can't trust google engineering... 🤣🙄🙄🙄

will work mostly with aGPLed, and free software, focused on development overviews. explaining, handholding, trouble shooting, teaching, etc.

rates: € 500.00/hour + travel + expenses. fixed fee quotes available. negotiable for non-profits.

experience: have hacked and created software on over a dozen languages and stacks, in the past, for over 20 years. created whole commercial system solutions that remained working, untouched and unmaintained, for 15 years. helped rms with words through email, i guess 🤣. got an ubuntu touch phone as primary “wannabe” computing device (current one relies on android with termux) focusing on GNU programs.

i could be identified as: + poor single male living in a trailer + rich partnered male creating a sustainable world in the woods

but any of those are over simplifications.

shall we start with a deep dive instead?

i've got about average sperm count. back in 2018 i've donated sperm for a bank in portugal, who contacted me asking for more in 2021.

anyone in my family who didn't go through every effort to prevent giving birth, do have healthy kids – it's fairly easy to do it if you're not careful within my family. they all also have very similar looks from my father side. anyone can tell my sister is my sister just by looking at us, you know... quite “strong” genes.

i don't ever smoke or drink, because i hate the taste of both, and have always hated 'em. i eat very healthy, stay slim, but i'm not perfect. irregular exercises; some minor issues with many parts of the digestive system; diabetes and cancer in the family; a rare condition on the eye shared with my mother, called recurrent corneal erosion, which can be quite a problem but it's also easy to control once you learn about it; just like my rhinitis, and; some kind of maniac / depressive / bipolar disorders in my dad and myself. let me know if you want to talk about this or anything else. hope i'm not forgetting anything... and that this won't scare you! because it shouldn't. :)

above all, when looking to donate sperm i do it because i want to one day get to know about my children, even if only by accident or from far away. or just know they exist and have lived! i may never have the chance on my own, given my life for the past 40 years: i never really wanted to raise one in this “society”, all by myself (i have no family to help with this). i still might do vasectomy after i give birth to some kids because i want to have plenty of unworried sex (and never did).

i've got 3 niblings and i'm pretty sure my offspring would be equally amazing.

yes, i'm inspired a lot by delivery man (2013) movie, in which vince vaughn has 500 kids as a donor. i'd love to be that guy!

perhaps this irrelevant to you, but since the sexuality topic is so much around here it could be worth to note: i will definitely become a woman if i can get to fully (you know, fertile with an uterus and no need to take pills for life) become a beautiful one. so for now there are many reasons i choose to stick with hetero born male.

i will gladly talk about anything you could ever imagine, except “politics” (unless you mean real politics, such as political theory or philosophy). i have always lived as an open (and many would think “scary”) book. ask me anything at all!

most importantly: i can't take any financial or social responsibility of any kid today, including my father. either you do it or you move in our community and we do it together, outside of society, in another financial and economic system.

above all: cheers! 😘

i will soon make every effort to make my whole life public online for as long as humanly possible. #publiclife this means permanent live stream and shared bank accounts. even all of my passwords, ...

to spin of did you know google silently removed “don't be evil” from their manifesto nearly 5 years ago? probably a bit earlier than 2018 may 18th...

how i still see #tamera today, after 3 years i first went there: an imperfect and much needed light that rose for me when i didn't know i needed it...

sometimes i call #aloze an offline coin...

frederick laloux did this amazing research many years ago, and i participated in his forums for a little bit...

i probably need to move this list into write... done! 🤣

rtmp:// interesting insights around #digitalmarketing

i still haven't read it or know the difference between activitypub and the fediverse.

also interesting list of apps there.
